Prague - Auschwitz - Krakow Trip

Tour Description

Are you looking for a driver-guide to take you from Prague to Krakow (one way)? Chose your own pace and make the most out of your journey by hiring one of our professional English speaking driver-guides who are holders of the official guide licence as well.  Along the way, you can stop at places of your interest and explore much more than if you hire just a driver. Driver-guide service – driver and guide as 1 person – is the most economical way of discovering new places. Don´t wait hours at the airport or train station and enjoy your sightseeing and lunch at the most beautiful places along the way.

You can explore the following sights as as you travel from Prague to Krakow:

AUSCHWITZ
Auschwitz-Birkenau became the killing centre where the largest numbers of European Jews were killed during the Holocaust. By mid 1942, mass gassing of Jews using Zyklon-B began at Auschwitz, where extermination was conducted on an industrial scale with some estimates running as high as three million persons eventually killed. 9 out of 10 were Jews. In addition, Gypsies, Soviet POWs, and prisoners of all nationalities died in the gas chambers. Between May 14 and July 8,1944, 437,402 Hungarian Jews were deported to Auschwitz in 148 trains. This was probably the largest single mass deportation during the Holocaust. Private diaries of Goebbels and Himmler unearthed from the secret Soviet archives show that Adolf Hitler personally ordered the mass extermination of the Jews during a meeting of Nazi German regional governors in the chancellery. As Goebbels wrote “With regards to the Jewish question, the Fuhrer decided to make a clean sweep …”

NOTE: Only guides licensed by the Museum are authorized to serve visitors. This ensures efficient movement around the entire Museum grounds and full information about the museum, the buildings and their history, and the exhibitions. Admission to the grounds of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial is free of charge. The grounds and buildings of the Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau camps are open to visitors.
